Highly Sensitive Therapist Retreat

High Sensitivity (or Sensory Processing Sensitivity) is an innate trait found in 15-20% of the population that causes our brain and nervous system to process information deeply and notice subtleties that others miss.  As a result, we feel our emotions strongly, are more empathetic, easily overwhelmed and very aware of sensory information such as strong smells or bright lights.  The trait shows up equally among people of all genders, with up to 30% of HSPs being Extroverts.

Highly Sensitive Therapists (HST) have many gifts to offer their clients such as being deeply empathetic, perceptive and present, but often struggle with:

Feeling Empty, Exhausted, and Overwhelmed Due to Lack of Downtime

 

Being More Impacted by Client's Emotional Experience

Our retreat is an educational and restorative experience to learn more about yourself as a Sensitive Person, discover ways to thrive in your work and connect with other Sensitive Therapists.  Throughout the four day/three night retreat, we will offer breakout groups for clinical consultation, workshops for clinical skill-building and tools to create manageable practices and lifestyles.

Beth Dawson

Beth is a psychotherapist in the Dallas, Texas area. She specializes in working with Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) who are newly exploring their trait, are overstimulated in different areas in their lives and have had difficult or traumatic childhoods.
